Stacking boxes

So the other night Geoff was out playing basketball with some neighbors. I stayed home because the girls were still awake (That's the excuse I gave, but really it was because "So you think you can dance" was on). Anyways, around 9:45 the girls had been really quiet for awhile so naturally, I thought that they were asleep. I decided that I would run over to the neighbors for a few minutes to see how the game was going.....well we got home about 5 minutes later and this is what we heard when we walked in the door....
Macie: "dad, I had an accident! come help me!"
So, we go up to her room, and this is what we see, Her standing against the wall all wet, next to her are 4 baskets that are stacked on top of each other inside her closet. When we asked her what she was doing, this is what she said...
Macie: "I was trying to reach the binkies" (which we keep at the very top of the closet)
She was trying to reach them because she found an old binkie holder (you know the kind that attaches to a shirt so you don't lose the binkie) and she wanted to attach the binkie to it. Needless to say, she was successful in reaching the binkies and she was very proud of herself.
For me, I was very impressed with what she accomplished in 5 minutes, but also a little nervous at what she was doing! I think that kids are a little to smart for their own good sometimes. I guess that I learned my lesson about leaving the house, even when it is quiet!!

Macie in wet pj's after her accident. She is also holding the binkie with the binkie clipThe stacked baskets and stool. Yes, the very top shelf is where the binkie was, I don't know how she even got it without falling.A closer look at the baskets and everything that came out of them. The stuff that was in the basket on top of the dresser by Addie's crib. Which she had to crawl into to reach the basket, then she dumped everything out into her crib, all without even waking her up!! Now that is what I call talant!!!

Addie swimming

Here is Addie's first time in the pool. She loved it!!! And she looks sooo cute in that little swimming suit. Say Cheese!!I said her name so she would look at the camera, and this is what she did!!Too Cute!! She thinks that she is pretty funny!Exploring the pool!

Addie's Birthday

My baby turned 1 yesterday!!! She is getting so big. We had a fun day just spending time together as a family. We started by wrapping Addie's presents all together. (Yes, she was helping, but don't worry, she wanted to play more with the wrapping paper than anything else.) Then, Last night we had a few friends over for dinner and cake and ice cream. It was fun! I just can't believe she is 1!!! Here are a few pictures of the night. Opening Presents. Addie sad because Macie took her toy away. (I never realized how hard birthday's are with 2 kids. Macie just wanted to open all of the presents and have all of the toys for herself. I think by the end, both girls were in tears.)Look at how cute that little face is!!! How can you not love her!!!Addie giving the "what, what, it's my birthday sign!!!!"Sitting in all of presents! Trying to decide what she should do with this peice of cake! Showing me she figured it out!! This is fun!!
Look at that frosting beard!!! I gave her a spoon and that is when she really went to town!
Checking out the spoon

Yay!!! We are all done, now I can go and take a bath!!! (ok, that is what I was thinking!!!)

Happy Birthday Addelyn!!! We love you!!!

Sick Addie

Addie is sick. She was up all night last night. No fun! I called first thing this morning to get her an appointment. She has an ear infection and rash as a result from a fever earlier this week. We got her some medicine, so hopefully she will be feeling better soon. Here is a picture of her little rash.

The Outlets

On the 4th of July we headed out to the outlets. It was fun! They have a big pond with some ducks that you can feed and a playground for the kids to play on. It is great because you can shop and the kids have fun too!! I got some cute clothes for the girls at great deals and then we fed the ducks. Here is a video of Macie feeding the ducks. It was a little before lunch time, so she was kind of hungry. I am pretty sure that she ended up eating more bread than the ducks did!!

Here are the girls on Sunday in new matching skirts that I bought them!! So cute!! Look at Addie. I think that with her hair like this, she looks sooooo big. And I can't seem to get Macie to just be normal in a picture. She is always doing something, which is why you never see her just smiling at the camera!!Here is Macie giving Addie a hug! Look at how cute those skirts are!!!!

4th of July

This is late, but here is what we did for the 4th. We were lucky enough to have some friends get free tickets to the Cleveland Orchestra down at the Blossom. (An outdoor stage) So, when they invited us, we jumped at the chance!!! It was sooooo much fun! I am so glad that we went with them! The kids were able to run on the lawn and play games. It was sooo relaxed and the music was good, and then there was fireworks at the end!!! It was great! The girls did so good for staying up so late and Addie loved the fireworks! Macie however did not. She kept her head buried under the blanket the whole time and just kept saying how scary they were. Here are a few pics of the evening.
The Crowd!!

Addie with her Flag! To cute!
The girls just relaxing.

Camping

We went camping for the 4th of July weekend. We had originally planned on staying 2 nights, but only made it through one night. Let's just say it started off rather rough, but ended pretty good!!! We got there and it had been raining all day. (That should have been my clue to just not go!) So because of the rain, our campsite was a pond. The kids were running in the water like crazy, and being the clean freak that I am, I just could NOT stand it!!!! I felt like I was constantly telling Macie to get out of the water, not that it mattered because she was already wet, but I just hated the thought of all of it. Anyways, we got the kids to bed and then sat under a tarp for a couople of hours and just talked. The talking was fun and we had a good time, I just can't stand the whole water thing!! So, we go to bed, thinking that the raining was done (it wasn't) it rained all night and half of the next day. Well, our tent has never leaked but this time it did! I am pretty sure that I had a steady drop of water falling on my head all night. Exciting, I know! The next day, we had a nice breakfast, and then we were all ready to pack up and go home because I could not stand the water any longer, when some other friends showed up and got us a different camp site that was dry!! We had already packed up all of our stuff at this point, so we decided that we would not stay another night, but we would stay through dinner. It was a fun camping trip, one that I will always remember, but I think that if I could delete the rain, I would! These are Addie's favorite snack. She was so funny because I just handed her the container that was about half way full, and she just sat there and downed the whole thing!! She was loving life!!
Also, This trip made me realize how happy I am that she doesn't crawl or walk yet, can you imagine the mess she would have been!? It is so nice that she likes to just sit there!!!
Here is Macie having a breakdown because she did not get a nap. She was having a pretty rough afternoon because of that fact. She was crying over EVERYTHING.

This is Macie within 2 minutes of us getting in the car, she was out of it!!! Tired girl!

Here is Addie. Within 5 minutes of us being in the car, she was out of it.

It was a nice quiet ride home. Then we got home and had to wake them up to bathe them. That was the worst. I wish I could have just put them straight to bed. All in all though, It was a fun trip!

Princess

We had a church picnic last week at a place called Squires Castle. Well, when we said the
word castle...Macie knew what she wanted to wear. She came downstairs with this little princess hat on and insisted on wearing it. She wore it the whole way there in the car and I would have let her wear it outside as well, but Geoff didn't want her to, so he was able to talk her out of it. Still pretty funny that she is starting to get an opinion on what she wants to wear out!!

Sprinkle Cookies

We were outside the other day playing. Macie had a bowl of sprinkle cookies (you know, the frosted ones that are pink and white with sprinkles on top). She left them in a chair while she went to play. Addie found them. Addie ate them. And.....she loved them. I am pretty sure that she downed 3 in a matter of 5 minutes. She would have loved to have more, but mom was mean and took them away! Let's just say she wasn't very happy with me!!!I love this picture! It is like she knows she's been caught.

Those were yummy!!! Thanks mom!!!!
