Today

Today is my cleaning day. Every Monday is. I do all of the laundry, sweeping, mopping, cleaning bathrooms, etc. on this day. We don't usually get ready at all on Mondays. Addie usually loves to help me clean and fold the laundry. Today she was busy entertaining herself with this though:
She was using the stroller as her stroller. She sat in it for most of the morning moving about where she wanted to by "walking" herself there while sitting in the stroller. She had her dog tied to the stroller so he would be barking behind her the whole way. Her baby is on her lap taking a ride and her purse has all of the things she might need so she doesn't have to get out of the stroller at all.
I asked her what she was doing at one point and she said that her legs didn't work. She also told me that her name was Savannah, her baby dolls name is Sally, and her dogs name is Jason. Funny little girl.

Photo Shoot

The kids and I were bored one day and in trying to figure out what to do we decided that we would have a photo shoot!! So we set things up, changed clothes, fixed hair and went to work. It was a fun afternoon. The girls dressed in cute clothes with tons of jewelry and we tried to put a cute little hat on Camden, but everytime we put it on he would just cry. Boo! I think that he is just so stinkin cute with a hat on, hopefully he will get used to them because if he can't wear bows in his hair, he will be wearing a hat!!I think that most of my favorite shots were the candid ones, when we were in the middle of talking or playing.
Say cheese! This one was taken right after Addie threw a complete fit because Macie got to hold Camden and not her.Macie thought that it was so cool that she could see through her wand. Addie is trying to pull a funny face with just her one hand and Camden is just hanging out! Here is Macie's funny face and pose. I love the half eye closed and arm sticking out. I don't know where she got this from, but it is awesome. I also love how long her hair is getting and how pretty it is. Love the curls!!

Addie being herself. Everytime you pull out the camera, this is the face that she pulls. She thinks she is soooo funny. I love the intensity in her eyes, I feel like I know exactly what she is thinking.Camden. He was very happy. Until I tried to put his hat on and sit him up. I don't have one picture of him not screaming at me after this point. And no, I don't think that he is flipping me off on purpose.....How I love and adore these cute kids! They give me soooo many reasons to be happy and they push me to do better each and every day. We are so truly blessed.

Lava Lamps

We have been blessed with beautiful weather this past week. On Tuesday Camden actually fell asleep and decided to take an hour nap, so we took full advantage of this and headed outside to do an experiment. We tried to make some lava lamps out of water bottles, oil, and alka seltzer. The girls loved them and thought that they were pretty neat.
Macie decided to color her water pink. Here she is checking out the reaction. Look at those colored bubbles!! So cool!Addie decided to color her water purple. Here she is checking out what is happening. WOW!!Both of them trying to figure out how this is working.

Some thoughts

Macie was talking to me about school yesterday. She was telling me how the Kindergartners are the best at being quiet in school. She then proceeded to say: "we are better then 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade, and last grade."
Makes sense to me, because where there is a first, there must be a last! Right?

I was talking to Geoff last night and telling him how I think that between the ages of 6-9 are going to be the hardest for me. Harder then the ages of 2-3, because kids are sooooo annoying during this stage of life. I feel like you tell them to stop doing something that they have been repeatedly doing for the past 5 minutes only to have them stop and move onto something even more annoying then the first thing they were doing....the worst part is they don't even know that what they are doing is annoying. AHHH. Macie has learned to fake whistle. It is very high pitched and it never stops. She does it sub consciously. Even during church. She just can't stop herself. And I can't stand it.

Each day as I pick up Macie from school, I ask her how her day was. She then proceeds to tell me who she played with on the playground and what games they played, what job she had for the day, if she was able to finish her lunch on time, what specials they had for the day, if they went to gym, library or computers, and so on. She is pretty detailed in the things she says and she remembers a lot about her days. She also tells me how much they get to watch tv - in school. AHHH. I am NOT a tv person. Our tv is hardly ever on. I am seriously disturbed at how much tv they watch in school. They watch cartoons during snack time every day. They watch cartoons during lunch time if it is windy, rainy, too cold (as in, temps lower than 50 degrees, not cold), or her teacher just doesn't want to go outside for the day. They watch them in music class sometimes as well. I cannot stand it. It seriously drives me crazy. Did you ever get to watch cartoons at school when you were little?

Camden has been sleeping through the night for the past 2 weeks. It is GREAT!! He sleeps from around 8:30 pm-7:00am. Sleep is a marvelous thing.

Addie is a klutz. She runs into doors or walls on a daily basis. It is hilarious. (Some of you will remember that Macie was the same way-hilarious!) Most of the time she doesn't get hurt, which is why it is so funny. At least once a day, you will hear Geoff or I yell, "watch out for the door!!!!" because she is looking a different direction while still walking.

Addie is also a pest. She thinks that she is funny while being a pest. She reminds me of myself. I was a pest and I still think that I am funny. I used to cling to my dads legs while he walked around the house. It didn't matter how many times he would ask me to get off, I thought that it was fun. I would often hear my dad say: "you are such a pest", and I thoroughly enjoyed being one. So does Addie. The worst part is that her laugh is so cute and she is having so much fun being a pest, that you can't even do anything about it.

comparing

I have been wanting to compare pictures and see what the kids looked like as babies. So, here are a few pictures. Macie is the first baby, then Addie, then Camden. The top row is each child at about 2 weeks and the bottom row is each of them at about 3 months.

Saturday Night

Yesterday was a rainy day. We had stayed inside almost all day. Geoff and I were trying to think of something to do for the night when I remembered that I had bought a gingerbread house kit on clearance and had been waiting for the perfect time to do it. Tonight was the night. So after dinner I told the girls to head outside to play in the rain for a little bit and then we would do the gingerbread houses. It turned out to be a very fun night. The girls loved it!!
Splashing and jumping in the rain!We love to play in the rain!!!Addie decorating her gingerbread house. Pretty sure she ate more candy and frosting then ended up on her house.Macie decorating her house. She really loved this and couldn't enough of it.And this is what Camden did while us girls decorated!Macie and her finished house. She didn't have any help with this house, pretty good for a 5 year old.Addie with her house. Notice the green frosting on her face....And when Camden was done eating, he sat on the table and we enjoyed his cute company!

Big Boy

Camden is getting so big. He is almost 3 months old now. CRAZY!! The other day we put him in the bumbo. He liked it...for about 5 minutes and then he was done. As I was looking at these pictures I couldn't help but notice the order of pictures and how it seems when the camera is pulled out, this is what always happens. So I thought that I would let you see how picture taking happens in our home.A cute little picture of the big boy.Macie: "what the camera is out, I must be in the picture too!!"Addie: "What is everyone doing over there?! I need to get on the counter!!!!! NOW!!!! Let me on the counter!!! Make room!!! I NEED to be in that picture!!! Cheese!" (All the while Camden is thinking, "Save me!!!")Then things get crazy and people start making funny faces and laughter ensues...Camden's now thinking "what is going on...Dad...save me!!"And in the end, someone is always crying because someone was told to get out of the picture or someone got hurt or someone didn't get to hold the baby...

Texas day

Here in Texas, things are a little different when it comes to school. Each morning at school the kids will recite the pledge, then they will recite the Texas pledge. In some schools, the Texas pledge will be recited first. The kids will learn about the Texas flag. You will walk into a store and they will be able to point to a Texas flag and tell you that it is a Texas flag, but when you point to a USA flag, they will not be able to tell you that it is our country flag. Disturbing....They are pretty sure that the state of Texas is more important than our country. So, in honor of Texas' birthday, Macie had a little sing along concert at school, where they roamed the halls and waved some flags and then ended in the cafeteria to sing us some songs. At least the flags that they waved were our country flag.
Walking through the hallways.

Miracles

Addie goes to a Catholic school. Here is a conversation that we had yesterday.

Addie comes into our room crying that Macie had stepped on her hat and squished it. So I took it to look at it and see if I could fix it. Upon fixing it, I said:
"It's a miracle, I fixed your hat."
Addie looks at me very seriously and says: "No mom, only Jesus and God the Father can do miracles." (This was funny enough, but then Macie says)
Macie: "No, anyone can do miracles, it's like telling a joke isn't it?"

Geoff and I just sit and look at each other and laugh not knowing what to say or which child to address first.

Then yesterday this conversation happened:
The girls had just come in from outside for dinner.
Me: "What were you guys doing out there?"
Macie: "The neighbor has their sprinkler on"
Addie: "Ya, in their backyard. It's awkward"

Geoff and I laughing so hard we can't even respond.

Fun in the Sun

Last week the girls and I decided to make some chalk spray paint. It was a beautiful day outside, so after we made it we headed out to try it out. We did 3 spray bottles with the colors of blue, yellow, and red. Here is Addie trying out the red one. Here is Macie working on a pool for her toys.
The results on the sidewalk. There is an A for Addie, a firework, and part of Macie's attempt at spelling her name.

The girls creating. Macie is working on a pond and Addie is trying to spray me thinking that she is funny even though I have told her multiple times to stop. Stinker.

After we had used up all of the spray chalk the girls wanted to play in the water. It was about 83 degrees out, so I told them to go ahead and get out the hose and play and spray down the sidewalks. They had a blast!!! Here are some pictures to show how much fun they had soaking each other! Here is Macie soaking herself. She wasn't expecting it to get her, so it made it extra funny! I wish that I had a picture of her face as she came up. Priceless!!Here is Addie trying to get Macie wet. Just look at that face! She thought that she was soooo funny. A Super cute picture of Macie. I love this toothless smile.A cute picture of Addie. Love those eyes.Addie soaking Macie. She is laughing so hard and Macie is loving getting wet.Macie soaking Addie. Again, love the facials! Seriously...love these girls and that they love to have fun and be spontaneous!!
