Play time

I was walking past our bedroom today and noticed Geoff in there playing with Camden. The girls were busy, giving Geoff a little alone time with the little guy, which rarely happens. I quickly grabbed the camera to try and get a few shots without him noticing. I love how real these are. They are innocent and pure and perfect.
Play time with dad. (until you noticed the remote next to you, then all you wanted was that!)

Addie is 4!

Addie had her 4th birthday this week. Her birthday was on Wednesday, the 18th, but she was puking sick on Monday and Tuesday, so we switched her birthday to Thursday. She was so funny though because she woke up on Wednesday and came into our room and said "is today my birthday?" I said that it was, but we were going to wait until Thursday to celebrate it so we can make sure that she is feeling better and not still sick. She was completely fine with that and all she said was "can I still be 4 today?" So cute. All in all it was a great thing that we decided to switch it to Thursday because on Wednesday she was feeling better, but still had no appetite, so she wouldn't have been able to have cake or anything. She also decided that she wanted a store bought, hot pink cake this year. So we went to the store to choose one out. If you have never had a hot pink cake from the store before...DON'T do it!! Our mouths were pink for days! It was totally disgusting. I am pretty sure that I will never buy a store bought cake ever again!!
Here she is going on her treasure hunt for her gifts, opening them, and then by her cake...which she then licked. Blowing out her candles...she blew about 5 good times and none of them blew out, so Geoff from behind helped her (she had no idea and thought that she had finally done it!)
Outside her door on the morning of her birthday. Each of the balloons had a dollar in it. She was so excited.

Addie is getting so big and has been so excited for her birthday for a couple of months now. She couldn't wait to be four. She has been asking me to make her pancakes in the shape of a birthday cake with candles for about 2 months now, she was so excited when she woke up and that is what she finally getting.
She is such a funny little girl and brings so much laughter into our home. She is a very expressive child, especially when it comes to her facials. So funny. She loves Macie to pieces and enjoys having Camden around. You can often hear her say "why won't he look at me?" I just want to talk to him! She loves school and can't wait for it to start again. Addie is also very tender and cries over just about everything. In all reality..it gets really old. I just hope that she will grow out of it sooner then later. She is truly a joy and blessing in our home and we couldn't imagine life without her! We love you Addie! Happy Birthday!

Let's go fly a kite

Addie has been sick for 2 days now. She is starting to feel a little better, but we have been couped up inside and Macie has had no one to play with. She was a getting a little tired of being so bored, so I told her that when Geoff got home and we got Addie to bed, She and dad could go out and fly the kite. It seemed to work and she was happy the rest of the day. So, Geoff got home, we had some dinner, and put Addie to bed, then the 2 of them headed out. The weather was perfect and they both a great time. It was a little daddy/daughter date (with mom there for a little bit so she could get some pictures!)
Macie flying the kite. Love this picture!
The 2 of them having a fun time together. She was so happy and felt so special being able to have some time with dad alone.

Changes

So, life is funny. I have decided that Heavenly Father has a good sense of humor. There are a few things in our life lately that have taken over. One is getting ready to move and when/if it was going to happen and everything that that entails, the uncertainty, the waiting, the wondering, that feeling of not being settled and not knowing what the future holds..........................................................................
the other, is one that we thought we wouldn't have to think about, at least not for another year. We have been surprised, blessed, and overwhelmed with the thoughts of this next adventure. I have cried. Many times. I have also gotten used to the idea and can say that I am kind of excited, although really scared. Let's just say that a double stroller is going to be our next big purchase.
That's right people....we are expecting another little one, as in, I am pregnant. (Go ahead and laugh...that's what the Dr. did). This baby was NOT planned and is a HUGE surprise. I am already 18 weeks pregnant.
                It is a GIRL!
I am due December 17th, 2012. One day after Camden's birthday. Which means that this baby will be coming the end of November. Crazy. We know. I just figure that in a couple of years, they will be the best playmates ever and will be inseperable. (crossing my fingers here!) My sanity on the other hand....may be all but gone. HA!
So, any visitors that would like to come and see us anytime December through March....be our guest!!! I will need all the help I can get!

P.S. This is NOT facebook appropiate material, as this is the way that we are telling everyone (including our families). Please, if you would like to leave a comment, leave one here and do NOT put anything on Facebook. Thanks!

Bowling

We went bowling for Family night this past week. It was so much fun. I don't remember the last time that we went bowling, but wow...the girls had a blast!! They loved it. It was so much fun to watch them. They were so excited about everything and could hardly wait for their turn each time.
This order of pictures shows Addie taking a turn and all of the excitement that ensued after each turn. They would jump up and down and will the ball down the lane and then jump for excitement when they would knock the pins over (even if it was only one). So funny.
Macie taking her turn. She did a pretty good job doing it all by herself.
 Grabbing the ball.
The final scores. The names that were used were: Macie Moo, Addie b' Daddie, Mecky, and Daddio. I was definitely winning the majority of the game, but then Geoff took notice and decided that he needed to up his game. So, in the end, he won with a final score of 137, me 124, Macie 73, and Addie 66.
And a picture of the little guy. He is sooo chunky and heavy to hold. But so cute.

Conversations

As I was getting ready this morning, the girls were in the toy room playing. I was thoroughly enjoying listening to their conversations. They are playing cars. Macie started with one of her cars saying: (in a deep voice..) "I am your grandpa. I am 37 years old."
Then I hear Addie accusing Macie of breaking a toy. Macie then gets upset and says I am not going to play with you anymore. Addie starts to cry...uncontrollably as though she has just broken her leg. Macie hurries and tries to calm Addie down by saying "ok, you can play with me, but I am going to make a chart and if you can be nice for 1 hour then I will give you a check mark. When you get 5 check marks, then you can play with me all of the time."  Addie thought that this was a great idea and is super excited about getting check marks. They have now been playing nicely for the past 2 hours. WOW!
The other night Geoff was outside doing yard work. He came in through the back door, which opens up into the toy room. When he came in, he didn't take off his shoes and he left a pile of dirt. Macie was not very happy with him and came to tell me that "dad took his shoes off and on accident, ON PURPOSE  he made a big dirty mess."
Addie had a surprise for me and said: "Mom, close your eyes- can you still hear me when you close your eyes?"
Addie came in while Geoff and I were checking the weather on the TV and says: "Mom, this is so cool....the weather is on your TV."

Love these kids. They always keep me laughing.

4th of July

The forth was pretty low key this year. We woke up and went to the ward pancake breakfast. Straight from there we went to the city parade. Let me just say...Lamest parade ever!!!! Not even worth going to. The girls had fun though,so I guess that that made it worth it. After the parade we headed home. The girls and Geoff went to the pool to swim while I stayed home with Camden. Then we headed to our friends house for a little bbq and some more swimming. We also did a few little fireworks in their yard. It was a fun day spent as a family. We are so grateful for this wonderful country and the many freedoms which we enjoy!
Macie at the parade. She was trying so hard to get some candy, but the boys were a little bigger than her and had no problem pushing her out of the way. Poor thing got a little frustrated at times.
Addie enjoying the parade from a safe distance.
Getting ready for fireworks. Notice how happy they are before they start!! They are already in their pj's because it was 9:30 and we still had a 30 minute drive home.
Here is the first one. She didn't last long before she was begging to go to the car and watch from inside.
Addie moved to Geoff's lap. It's a little more safe there.
Doing sparklers was probably the only thing that they enjoyed about the fireworks and that even took a little coaxing to get them to do that! Ha! Silly girls!

Frog in the Bath?

On Tuesday night, the girls were in the bath. They were playing so nicely and I had just layed Camden down for a short little nap. Geoff was out mowing the lawn. I was enjoying a little quiet time while everyone was busy, when someone rang the doorbell. I ignored it. I never answer the door and I figured if it was someone important, they would notice Geoff doing the lawn. Then came the loud banging on the door. So, I got up to check and see who it was. It was Geoff with his hands clasped together. He was all excited and said "I have a frog in my hands...where are the girls?!" I told him that they were still in the tub and to just go and throw it in with them. He totally took me seriously and just walked in and threw it in the tub. The girls were looking at him, like what are you doing in here and what are you looking at? They didn't even notice the frog and Geoff had to point it out to them. When they saw it, they were going crazy!!! They couldn't believe their eyes. They immediately started to try and catch it and hold it. Macie got pretty quick and could catch it easily. Addie struggled and started to get a little frustrated that she wasn't getting a turn. Macie kindly caught it for her and put it in her hands for her. It got pretty comfortable with Macie and when she would hold him, he wouldn't even jump, he would just sit there. It was pretty funny and I hope that it is something that they will always remember. I know that we will. Their faces were priceless!
Addie gets a turn holding the fun frog. She was excited, but a little scared.
Macie is holding the frog in this one. It is getting ready to jump. Watch out!
Macie thinks that it is soooo cool that the frog is just sitting on her hand and not jumping off. Addie is saying "when do I get a turn?!" In the most whiny voice you can imagine.
Addie finally getting another turn. Macie is ready to catch it at a moments notice.
