Soccer

The past few weeks Macie has been in Soccer. She likes it. She does not love it and is kind of lost when she is on the field. I am convinced that it is not her sport, Geoff says that it is her first time playing and to give it time. I think that I would rather just put her back in dance because she is pretty good at it. We will see what she chooses. She got to go to the store with me and choose out her own shorts and shin guards. She chose pink everything. It is her favorite color. I like it because I always know which one she is on the field!
Her biggest fear when starting soccer was that she would score a goal in the wrong goal. That she would get a point for the other team. It was such a worry for her that she talked about it quite alot before soccer even started.
Yesterday she had a game. I am pretty sure that she has never once touched the ball during any of her games. She usually just skips along following the crowd. She is pretty timid and doesn't want to take the ball from anyone or even try to get the ball at all. So...you can imagine our surprise when yesterday, out of the blue, came this great little soccer player, who for a short moment, stole the ball and whizzed past another player to score a goal....for the wrong team!!! It happened sooo quickly we were all in complete shock! Her face lit up! She was sooo excited! She looks at us, throws both hands in the air, and jumps up and down completely forgetting that the game is still going. It.was.PRICELESS.  Totally made the whole season! Her face was stinkin' happy and excited. I was hoping that no one would tell her that it was for the wrong goal just so she could enjoy this moment. When the game was done she came running over to us full of joy! We told her how great she did and how awesome her goal was. That was when she said "Ya, but it was for the wrong team."  She was still happy and ok with it, which was good since that was her biggest fear in playing soccer. But I still just wish no one would have told her. What a great memory that would have been for her. I am also sad because it happened so fast, that I didn't get a single picture!!! BLAH!!
 Trying to figure things out.
 Going after the ball.
She has played goalie at a couple of games as well. The first time, no one scored. The second time, the team was a little better and they scored 2 times. Luckily she is still happy and it doesn't seem to affect her attitude!

Caterpillar

Geoff was outside mowing the lawn yesterday. I was inside feeding Camden. The girls were "helping" Geoff. All of a sudden the girls come running inside carrying a piece of scrap wood. They were all sorts of excited and brought it right up next to me so I could see what the excitement was about. On the wood, was a nice, harry, fuzzy caterpillar.

He looked as though he was dancing on the wood. It was pretty funny.
Macie stuck her finger out to see if the caterpillar would climb onto her hand. It did. And it left her a little present too. (Notice the little poo.)
He sure was friendly and the girls loved him.
They played with him for a good while before it was time to say goodbye to the new found friend. We love bugs around here and it sure is fun when we can find a new one to investigate as Macie would say!

Naughty Jar

This afternoon the girls were playing...fighting. So, after asking them to get a long and them not listening I pulled out the naughty jar. What is the naughty jar you ask....let me tell you. A few weeks ago I was tired of all of the fighting that was going on in our home. It is just exhausting. So, we had a family night on fighting and how it ruins the spirit in our home and then I introduced my friend...the naughty jar. (I couldn't think of a better name for the life of me...ideas?)
This is the naughty jar. Inside of this jar are a bunch of  "punishments" for not getting along. Some of the things include: Stand inside of a hula hoop and hug each other for 5 minutes (Addie thinks this one is hilarious..Macie hates it!), Macie read Addie a story, Color a picture of a rainbow with your hands tied together, sit on your bed and read books for 10 minutes, do a puzzle together, Play ring around the rosie four times together, build a tower out of blocks together (see how high you can get it), Both of them pick a toy in the toy room to clean up together, color a picture while listening to primary music, and my personal favorite...
Clean the bathroom counter with your legs tied together!  They were laughing so hard!!

The girls have LOVED this! The fighting has definitely gotten tons better and I am one happy momma. Now when they fight and I pull out the jar, they get excited! They love the jar and even ask for it when they aren't fighting for something funny to do. When I tell them what they have to do, they usually laugh and love it. I am not sure if this is a good thing or not, but hey, at least it is positive reinforcement instead of negative, and it has worked. It distracts them from fighting and reminds them how fun it is to work and play together. The jar is loved by everyone. :)

Life

The girls and I did another little project this week .This time it was about clouds and how they work. So, we got a couple of mason jars, filled them with water and some shaving cream and went to work to see what would happen. I gave them both a squeeze bottle with colored water in it and they could squeeze the water out and see how it affected the Shaving cream "cloud".
Here is Macie adding a little bit of color. Notice the pink?
Here is Addie checking hers out. Hers took a little bit longer to work...I might have had hers sit to long before we started...oops!
Macie adding some more color. She really thought that this was neat. She did not want to stop doing it.
Addie was getting a little frustrated that hers was not working as good as Macie's. Hers just kind of sat right underneath the layer of shaving cream and didn't really change all of the water.
I walked into the room one night this week and when I walked in... this is what I saw. The little guy, playing on the computer and watching tv!  Geoffy is soooo funny! I was laughing pretty hard.
I mean, it seriously looks legit! Such a cute little guy!

Rangers Game

Geoff got some pretty sweet tickets to a Rangers game this week. It was the same night as Macie's soccer practice, so we kind of debated going, but decided in the end that we had tickets for free with free parking....it was a no brainer!  The seats were pretty sweet. They were pretty close and in the perfect spot for all of the foul balls to come into the stands. It was a lot of fun. Plus they won!
The ladies! Macie did get tired of the noise and was ready to leave way before we did.
Addie enjoyed the game thoroughly and didn't want to go home. She was a little upset that we left one inning early. The girls did have school the next day!
This little guy hates loud noises! So....he did this a good majority of the time. I ended up being outside with him while he took a nap and then I think that he just got used to the noise or Geoff was able to distract him enough that he stayed pretty happy near the end.

Big boy

Dear Camden,
You are 4 months old today!!! Crazy! You love to eat! And your little body is starting to show that fact. We started you on cereal 2 weeks early and you love it. We went to the Dr. today for your checkup and shots and here are your stats:
14 lbs 33%
23 3/4 inches tall 12%
and your head is in the 44%
You are already becoming completely attached to me. Silly little guy. I really am not that fun! In order to get you to take a nap I must snuggle you all up against me, give you your binky, and start bouncing....I can't stop bouncing until you are completely asleep! Sometimes I wish that I could just hold and rock you, but everytime I try, you scream or wake up. You are at an age where you are drooling...alot...all of the time! Your clothes get soaked...it is disgusting! This is a phase that I will not miss! This is your first time having cereal. You don't do this anymore! You really like it.
I love Your smile. You are smiling and laughing so much! It is so fun! You really like to play patty cake with dad. You laugh every.single.time.
Seriously...so cute!
You love taking a bath! If you are crying and won't stop... I put you in the tub and then you are happy again!
You love to try and look up as far as you can....like this!
Here You are in your Sunday best! I love little boy clothes!
Your new favorite toy is the Doorway bouncer. You love to stand and bounce and this is the perfect combo! You will sit in this thing for 1/2 hour and be completely happy. It is great!
You are getting a little more happy and are actually getting on a schedule and starting to take some good naps instead of cat naps. I am starting to actually get things done and am feeling like a human again. Thanks. We sure love you and the joy that you bring into our family.

Easter Morning

The Easter Bunny found our house this year. He left a nice church outfit for each of kids. What a thoughtful little bunny. He also hid eggs all around our house for the kids to find. (Most of which were filled with money...from the girls own piggy bank... I personally thought that it was a genius idea. It saved me money (on candy) and they didn't get more candy.) Saturday was such a busy day that the girls fell asleep in the car on the way home from my aunts house. So we were never able to tell them that when they wake up to come and get us and to NOT look at the Easter stuff. Well, Sunday morning came and Macie comes running into our room. The first thing she says is "mom, I didn't look at the Easter stuff. I came straight into your room to get you, and I told Addie not to look at it too." What a responsible little 5 year old I have. Addie then came into the room laughing and said "Macie, the Easter bunny came! I saw an egg on the fridge! Did you see the egg on the fridge?! That is sooo silly!" So we all got out of bed to go and see what the Easter bunny brought. Here is Macie's dress and basket. She got a webkinz frog and a bubble blower.Addie got a webkinz hippo and a bubble blower.I felt so bad for Camden. I totally was NOT ready for Easter this year. I have not been going to any stores since this little guy was born! He HATES his car seat and cries everytime he is in it, so I never go anywhere. (Which has been great for our bank account by the way). Therefore, this little guy had no Easter basket...next year I guess. He got a toy boat and some toy trucks.Camden Easter morning. He just got done eating his bottle.Macie finding some eggs.Addie finding some eggs! This little girl was HILARIOUS!!!! She was sooo excited about everything! Her facial expressions were the best! I would totally do this everyday if she would give me the same reactions!!! Priceless!! Here she is laughing and telling Geoff that the Easter Bunny hid an egg in his shoe!! "see dad!"

Macie is showing me what is inside of her egg....cadbury mini eggs!!!! A favorite!!Addie finding a starburst in her egg! This little guy is watching the girls and smiling at them!! Even he thinks they are funny! Here is Camden all ready for church! What a chunk!! I am so in love with this kid!Macei all ready for church in her Easter dress. She is getting so big!Addie in her Easter dress. We could not get her to just take a normal picture.... On another note, my mom thinks that Addie looks like Drew Barrymore when she was little and I can totally see it in this picture...I also think that she looks a little like Shirley Temple though too...What do you think? All 3 of them together! What a cute bunch! (Notice Camden staring at his hand trying to figure out what it is!!!)I am SOOOOO in love with this picture!! It truly shows both of their personalities!! Macie the Diva and Addie the Goof! Haha!! What a pair!

Egg Coloring

There are some traditions which I think should be done more than just once a year, coloring eggs is one of them. All of us had so much fun doing them this year. The 15 eggs that we had was not enough. Today after school, we are going to go across the street in the empty field and have an egg throwing contest with all of the eggs that are left. I think that these are the times, when my kids are grown and gone, that I will miss the most. It is just so much fun creating memories with them. Macie loved trying to combine the colors to see what the egg would like after 2-3 colors. She also colored on the eggs with a crayon to make some designs. She had an egg with the letter M, an egg for dad that said I love you and a multi colored egg.

Addie really enjoyed this this year. She could not get enough of it. She liked dipping the eggs in the pink and blue colors to make them purple, her favorite color. She had eggs with the letter A, some coloring, and a multi colored one that she asked me to make for her.

Geoff even got in on the action. I think that this is the first year that he has been home while we have done this. The past 4 years our neighbor Suzy and I would do it with the kids while the hubby's were at school. He made me one that said Happy Anniversary because our anniversary was the next day.

Sticker Fun

A couple of nights ago, the girls were playing with some stickers practicing their spelling and letters. I was doing the dishes when Macie walks in the kitchen laughing and says "look mom". When I turned around, this is what I saw. She is spelling out my brother's name (backwords) "TYTY". She thought that she was so funny. And of coarse Addie had to get in on the action as well. Hers spells nothing. And just for the fun of it..a cute pic of the little man

Dallas Arboretum

We were lucky enough to have my parents come for a visit this past week. It was fun having them here, especially with how nice the weather was. While they were here we took a visit to the Dallas Arboretum. We all had a hard time deciding how this was pronounced...pretty funny! It was a beautiful and the arboretum was absolutely gorgeous!! Before we went I was explaining to my parents how I hate the grass here because it is hard and splotchy and has fire ants all over it, and I all I want is really nice grass that we can all go outside and sit in and hang out on (I was pretty sure that that type of grass didn't exist here).....we get to the arboretum and the first thing we come upon is a big grassy area with really nice grass. I was so happy to know that we could, one day, have nice grass here in Texas. Here are the girls above this beautiful lillipad pond We got lucky and it ended up being a special kids day. So, there was a petting zoo and face painting all for free. We were too late for the face painting, but the girls loved the petting zoo.

Grandpa and the girls. Isn't the scenery just beautiful!Grandma and the girls. Addie would not hold still and was acting crazy! She just wanted to touch the water.
Going through the tunnel of trees.

Playing in the frog fountain. So fun! Macie was a little bit more brave then Addie and she got soaked!grandpa and the little man! Here is one more of the little man...I just can't get enough of this kid! So stinkin' cute!
