Family pics

While we were home for Christmas- my family had our pictures taken. It was pretty entertaining to say the least. There are 6 grandkids all under the age of 6. There are two 2 year olds and two 6 month olds. So....to get everyone smiling or even just looking at the camera was quite the chore. I'm sure the photographer was probably annoyed with us by the end. When it was one families turn- the rest of us would be behind her doing whatever it took to make these kids smile - in all actuality- it was probably freaking hilarious watching us.The whole Family. For those of you who know us...... from top left: Tyson, Breanna, Dad, Mom, Beau, Mindy (Beau's Fiance'). Left Grouping: Amber's Family. Right Grouping: Our Family
The Original 5: Amber, Tyson, Becky, Beau, Breanna
The Grandparents with all of the grandkids. This was probably the funniest- because we had warned everyone beforehand that Macie does not take pictures. She will get really shy and try to hide her face at all costs. So here- everyone is smiling and looking at the camera, and then you have Macie who is sitting on a stool and looks like she is in time out. Just look at that face- classic!!!! And we were all behind the camera making fools of ourselves trying to get every kid to look and smile!!!The Family picture. We were just happy that everyone was looking and Macie had a part smile!

This one is one of the big family ones that they cut Macie out and zoomed in because they thought that it was soooo funny. All in all it was a lot better than any of us anticipated it would be. And best of all- we actually got quite a few good pictures out of it!!!

Opposites

OK- today Addie had her 6 month check up and here are the stats: 24 inches tall, 12 lbs. 11 oz. Again- just the 5th percentile. She is still tiny- but healthy and growing.

Anyways- I think that it is so funny how opposite my 2 girls are when it comes to their height and weight. People are always telling Geoff and I how alike our girls look and we just don't see it. The only similarity that we can see is their "big blue eyes". So I thought that it would be fun to do a little post on what Macie looked liked at certain ages compared to Addie at 6 months. (I am only doing Addie at 6 months because Macie weighed 12 lbs at 2 1/2 months old- so they are a lot more comparable that way.) That way when you people out there that think that our kids look alike and we look at you kind of weird- you might understand where we are coming from in the fact that- we just don't see it.

This is Macie at 2 months old -she weighed about 12 lbs here.(above)

This is Addie at 6 months old (below)

This is Macie at 4 months old- she weighed 15 lbs and was 23 1/2 inches long. (above)

This is Addie at 6 months. (below) I actually think that they kind of look alike here.

This is Macie at 5 months-(above) This is Addie at 6 months (below)

This is Macie at 6 months- she weighed 17 lbs 8 oz and was 27 inches long. This is Addie at 6 months- she wieghs 12 lbs 11 oz and is only 24 inches long.
So- the difference between my two girls is that Macie was always in the 90th percentile and Addie is in the 5th. It really is funny to me how there is a 5 lb difference between them when they are at the same age. Anyways- if you look at these last 2 pictures- you will see that at the same age- they really look nothing alike- which I think is why Geoff and I have a really hard time seeing how people think they look the same.

Snowy Days

We had a nice snow storm this past weekend. It dumped about 8 inches in one day. Geoff went out to shovel and Macie wanted to go out too- so I bundled her up and sent her out to play. Here she is in the snow.
She looks like she is pouting- but she is really having fun~
Here she is yelling at me "I can't walk anymore- I'm stuck mommy- help!"This is Macie and out Neighbor. They seriously look like twins- It is really funny.

Christmas day

The kids woke up about 7:30 and we all went downstairs to the living room where Santa had left all of the gifts. Macie was so much fun this year with all of the presents. She got some dress ups, shoes, and a wand from santa. Addie got a few toys that are easy to grab and chew.

Christmas Eve

We are back!!! We had a great vacation, but are happy to be home!!! We were able to go back to Idaho and see our families for a few weeks and it was a blast!!! We stayed busy and were able to see alot of family!!!
For Christmas Eve, we went to see some Christmas Lights, then we came home for Grandpa's spagetti. It was delicious!!! Then the grandkids all got to open a present from grandma (their new pj's), and aunt Breanna opened up a movie for the kids to watch. It was a fun evening ending with the reading of the polar express. Here are a few pics of our Christmas Eve.

Potty Magazine

So- the other night Macie decided that she wanted to go potty. On her way into the bathroom she saw the ensign and decided to grab it. She then went into the bathroom, put her baby in the little potty and herself on the big one and sat and read the magazine. This is really funny because this type of thing does not happen in our house! So she has never seen this and I don't know where she got the idea from!!!! We are just excited that she is sitting on the potty!

This is Addie in the bouncer!! See how excited she is!!!!! We finally pulled it out and tried it and she liked it ok. I am sure as she learns how to use it she will enjoy it more.

This is her favorite thing to do!! Shove her entire fist in her mouth!! What a talant!!!!

Inside Macie's head

A little look at what Macie thinks the right way to say things is.
"old Macdonald had a farm with a cow here, with duck here quack, quack, with a pig here, oink, oink, with a kangeroo here, ....kangeroo, with a cow here."
"abcde, come on everybody, fghijklmn, faster, opqrstuvwxyz, keep singing!"

She then puts on this hat and says "I'm a cowboy"
me: "your a cowboy? What does a cowboy say?"
her: "moo, moo"
This last picture is just to show those of you at home how curly and long her hair is getting!

Decorating the tree

Here are a few pics of us decorating the tree! Macie is a lot more fun this year than last. Last year I just wanted to take the tree down because she just kept braking all of the bulbs and undecorating it and this year- she actually keeps it decorated! Yeah!!! She loves the christmas stuff. She gets soooo excited every time she comes down the stairs. She yells: "yeah- it's christmas!!!" It is so cute!Addelyn, enjoying the lights! (and her fingers!)

Macie so excited to help put the ornaments on the tree!!

Is this spot ok mom?

Look at that concentration!!

I think that this part was her favorite!! She got to go under the tree to get the dropped ornament! Just look at the excitement on that face!
