Piano Problems

Ok- so a few weeks ago we were able to find a piano off of craigslist. So I had Geoff and a couple of our guy friends go and pick it up. Well- in the begining it sounded as though it would be pretty easy. The morning they were going to go and get it the lady calls me and lets me know the year of the piano- 1905- and that it was in the basement of her house. So- that being said- we decided to still go and get it. Geoff with 3 other guys go to pick it up. They get to the lady's house in about 20 minutes. So I was thinking, "this is going to be a pretty quick trip". 3 HOURS later Geoff FINALLY calls me and says that they are on their way home. Come to find out that the piano is cast iron inside and it BARELY made it up the stairs in this lady's house. Yes- that is right- these poor guys were lifting this piano up the stairs for 3 hours. They were so pooped when they got to my house that they just left it in the garage.

A few days later, the boys came back over to move it into the house. Pretty easy right?! Especially since we had measured and knew that it would fit. Well- once again- an hour and a half later the paino was FINALLY in our house. AFTER my house and the front of the piano were destroyed in the process. (We had to remove the front door, unlatch the screen door, take off the baseboards, dent in the corners of my walls and totally peal the wood off of the front of the piano.)

Yea for us and the new piano!!!

It is pretty and looks really good and we really enjoy playing it- however- when we sell this house- the piano stays with it!!!!!

This is the front of the piano.

yeah, you have a piano! What a pain though. It is beautiful. I saw your fam this weekend at Alylaura's wedding. That was fun to see them.

Oh! How sad about the house. (We got a new fridge this week, but it wasn't nearly as tedious.) I like how that old piano looks!
