There are some things that I tell Macie that I think will never sink in- I think that way because she doesn't ever apply what I am telling her , so she must not understand. Right?!! Well, in the past few days my eyes have been opened and I realize that she really DOES understand EVERYTHING i am trying to teach her, she just chooses not to apply it! (yes she is only 2!)
Example #1: We are getting ready to go to a friends house to play and Macie is walking down the stairs saying "mommy says be nice, share toys" (which I say everytime before we play with a friend) then she procedes to have a converstation with herself about sharing saying "here you go Cole, you can have the football" (with arm extended).
Why this is funny: she NEVER shares her toys with anyone no matter how hard I try to teach her that concept.
Example #2: She is playing with a babydoll and I hear her saying (in a normal voice) "we are going to church baby, bread and water, (whispering now) shhhh, quiet, no talking baby, bread and water.
Why this is funny: she NEVER whispers in church no matter how often I tell her to- it just doesn't happen!!
Example #3: Once again, she is playing with her dolls in the toy room, I hear her say "no baby, no spill juice, that's not nice. You go to time out now, ok baby, to time out." She then comes to me and asks me to bring out the naughty stool so she can place her baby there.
Why this is funny: This is the #1 thing that she goes to time out for. If we leave her in the kitchen with a glass of juice, she will almost always poor it out on purpose and start splashing in it, so it gets everywhere. I wasn't quite sure if she understood that this was bad because she does it so much- but now I know.
I could go on and on of the things that I thought she didn't understand- but alas- she understands everything! What am I going to do with her??!!!!

That is too funny! Alas, I am the same way; there are many things I know I should and shouldn't do, yet I am so far from perfection. You are off to a great start! You are teaching her, she's learning, and someday you will be praying that she will understand (and apply) the other teachings from your home. Good luck to all of us!
That is so cute! I love that I think that kids always know what you are telling them and teaching them, but they choose when and how they want to aply them! When Baden was little you could just see on his eyes and facial expressions that he was soaking everything in(learning how to talk) and then one day it all poors out!!!! Anyway love it she is such a cutie! Hope you are all well!
I hear you! Isn't it great having a 2 year old? At least we're not bored....
I hear ya, at least your child repeats. Mine Doesn't HE will just Look at me with a smile, or get my attention and then pour out the juice/milk in his cup.
I enjoyed this post. I think that is so funny! What a clever little girl.
Hey! Its me Brooke, Brooke Banta. How's the bladder after having had two babies by the way?
So your girls are so cute! Just wait until she decides its time for her little sister to go to time-out. Trey (my 3 year old) put Jack (my 6 month old) there while he was in his walker. I still don't know what exactly Jack did to deserve it but it was pretty funny.
I'm so glad you found Em. I'll send you an invite to our blog.
Okay so how can your spouse not love the spare dance? It is an integral part of you. Chad says he likes it but only because it has to do with bowling and bowling helped bring us together- That and you passing out at the ice skating rink. Fun times! So I'm going to stop bringing up embarrassing moments from us living together.
So have you gotten the question of "don't you want a boy" a lot lately? I keep getting the "don't you want to have a girl" question. Its like what the heck! do you really think I want to think about being pregnant in the next year and a half?
LOL! I love this list. :D
What a little stinker she is! It sounds like she can speak really well though. That is too funny!
P.S. The 1/2 marathon was fun for most of it. The last mile was really hard and I was very sore for the next few days. I am glad I did it though and I am planning on doing it again next year. You should go for it!
