bedtime

Every night Macie goes to bed around 8:00. She does not fall asleep until around 10:00-10:30. What does she do in the meantime? She PLAYS!!! And when I say play....I mean she DESTROYS her room. It is really funny every night to open her door and see what she has been up to. Last night I opened her door and she had MOVED her bed (yes, she is only 2) pulled her sleeping bag and some blankets out from under her bed, picked up her rug and had it in a pile in the middle of her floor, stacked most of her books onto her bed, and lined up her ABC cards into a "sidewalk". Quite exciting!!! Here are a few pictures for your enjoyment!

This is Macie showing me how she moved her bed. (it is usually against the wall.)This is her bookshelf. She moved it away from her bed, and if you look closely at the lamp you will see that it is teetering on the edge and is only being held in place by the curtain. These are her ABC cards (which apparently are a "sidewalk"??) Her sleeping bag and the blanket bag are from under her bed. This is the proud monster!!! She is telling us what she did and why!!!This photo is of a few nights ago. The vanity toy and vaccume were in her house. The tupperware and clothes basket were by her bed, and the hair stuff was all over the floor and came from her closet. Life is soooo exciting when there is a 2 year old in the house!!!

Bowling

We went bowling last night and it was a blast!!! We went the dental fraternity at Case. They paid for the bowling, pizza, and drinks. It was so nice to get out and have some fun as a family. The bowling alley was huge!!! I don't know how many lanes it had...but it was never ending!!!!!

Here is Macie bowling! Look at that bowling face! Our camera is awesome when it comes to taking pics of moving objects!!! This one is of Geoff!and this one is of me!!!! Awesome huh!!!This is Macie posing....super exciting because she NEVER poses for the camera!!!!Here is Macie cheering!! I think she had more fun cheering for everyone, then actually bowling. Here is Addie enjoying the night! (and no, we did not match on purpose!)

Macie's words

Yesterday while eating dinner, Macie had a role. She only likes to eat the inside of roles not the crust. So, I gave her some role with the outside still on it and she looked at me and said: "mom, you forgot to take the wrapper off."
Later, she was singing the wise man built his house upon a rock, this is how she was singing it: "the rains came down and the floods came jump" and she would then jump with the song. To funny.
The other day I was walking out of target and Macie starts to say really loudly, "shake your booty, shake your booty" While shaking her booty and dancing her way out the door. I was laughing so hard I couldn't even say anything to her. It was so funny!!!!!

emotions

So lately Macie has the funniest way of letting us know how she is feeling. A few examples:
This morning she was playing with a toy that has a light. She went to turn the toy on and when the light didn't work- this is what I heard:
"I'm so upset. The lights aren't working. It needs new batteries. I'm just so upset!!"
To funny!!!
Then this evening I had bunco and when I came home she was still awake. So I went up into her room to say goodnight and she says:
"I'm so excited!!! I was so sad and I was crying and I told daddy that I wanted mommy. I'm so excited!"
She is so funny and I love the way she is starting to talk.

Melting Snow

While Macie was looking out the window yesterday, this is what I heard: "oh no, the snow is all melting"
me: "the snow is melting?"
her: "ya, it is soooo sad. I am sooo sad."
me: "Why are you sad?
her: "Because now we can't go bye bye"
me: "We can't go bye bye? why?
her: "Because the snow is melting. I am sooo sad."
So, while the rest of us are enjoying the nicer weather, Macie is sad and is saying that we can't go anywhere.

an update!

Sorry it has been so long!!! There is just nothing going on. So.....here is an update on what the girls have been up to:
We are starting to realize that Macie is getting my OCDness. It is quite sad, but funny at the same time. Some examples include: In our fridge there is a spot for Geoff's yogurt and my yogurt and they are always separate, Macie has picked up on this some how and now LOVES (or demands) to put the yogurt away when we come home from the store. She will check each one and put it in its appropriate place. (and no- I didn't teach her or tell her to do it that way!)
When coloring, she is only allowed to use each color once (or so it seems). She will use the color, then put it on the other side of the table and when each color is on the same side of the table, she is done. Then, when she puts the crayons away they all MUST be facing the same way or we have a fit on our hands. (I definitely didn't teach her the first one, but I might have the second). When she picks up her toys, she is very particular about where each one goes. They all have a basket and a place and when she is in the mood, she will actually do a great job of cleaning everything up to my standards!!! It is GREAT!!!!!
Addie is growing and loving baby food. She is doing really well with it and I think would eat it all of the time if she could. She isn't doing a whole lot more than that- she doesn't sit up, roll over, or crawl. She doesn't like the bouncer, the swing, or the bumbo (unless she is eating). Really the only thing she likes is to lay on the floor with toys (but only if you are in the room with her) or to be held. She is becoming a pretty easy baby. She sleeps really well and is pretty happy for the most part.
Macie is really starting to enjoy Addie. She is finally realizing that there is another person around and likes to now play with her. She loves to try and hold her and give her toys when she is sad. The other day Macie came to me and said "mommy, baby Addie rolled over, come see" So I go in the other room and Addie was on her stomach. Macie reaches down and rolls her over and said "see mom, she rolled over!"
Sorry for the randomness- just thought that I would update with a few things that I want to remember.

Family pics

While we were home for Christmas- my family had our pictures taken. It was pretty entertaining to say the least. There are 6 grandkids all under the age of 6. There are two 2 year olds and two 6 month olds. So....to get everyone smiling or even just looking at the camera was quite the chore. I'm sure the photographer was probably annoyed with us by the end. When it was one families turn- the rest of us would be behind her doing whatever it took to make these kids smile - in all actuality- it was probably freaking hilarious watching us.The whole Family. For those of you who know us...... from top left: Tyson, Breanna, Dad, Mom, Beau, Mindy (Beau's Fiance'). Left Grouping: Amber's Family. Right Grouping: Our Family
The Original 5: Amber, Tyson, Becky, Beau, Breanna
The Grandparents with all of the grandkids. This was probably the funniest- because we had warned everyone beforehand that Macie does not take pictures. She will get really shy and try to hide her face at all costs. So here- everyone is smiling and looking at the camera, and then you have Macie who is sitting on a stool and looks like she is in time out. Just look at that face- classic!!!! And we were all behind the camera making fools of ourselves trying to get every kid to look and smile!!!The Family picture. We were just happy that everyone was looking and Macie had a part smile!

This one is one of the big family ones that they cut Macie out and zoomed in because they thought that it was soooo funny. All in all it was a lot better than any of us anticipated it would be. And best of all- we actually got quite a few good pictures out of it!!!

Opposites

OK- today Addie had her 6 month check up and here are the stats: 24 inches tall, 12 lbs. 11 oz. Again- just the 5th percentile. She is still tiny- but healthy and growing.

Anyways- I think that it is so funny how opposite my 2 girls are when it comes to their height and weight. People are always telling Geoff and I how alike our girls look and we just don't see it. The only similarity that we can see is their "big blue eyes". So I thought that it would be fun to do a little post on what Macie looked liked at certain ages compared to Addie at 6 months. (I am only doing Addie at 6 months because Macie weighed 12 lbs at 2 1/2 months old- so they are a lot more comparable that way.) That way when you people out there that think that our kids look alike and we look at you kind of weird- you might understand where we are coming from in the fact that- we just don't see it.

This is Macie at 2 months old -she weighed about 12 lbs here.(above)

This is Addie at 6 months old (below)

This is Macie at 4 months old- she weighed 15 lbs and was 23 1/2 inches long. (above)

This is Addie at 6 months. (below) I actually think that they kind of look alike here.

This is Macie at 5 months-(above) This is Addie at 6 months (below)

This is Macie at 6 months- she weighed 17 lbs 8 oz and was 27 inches long. This is Addie at 6 months- she wieghs 12 lbs 11 oz and is only 24 inches long.
So- the difference between my two girls is that Macie was always in the 90th percentile and Addie is in the 5th. It really is funny to me how there is a 5 lb difference between them when they are at the same age. Anyways- if you look at these last 2 pictures- you will see that at the same age- they really look nothing alike- which I think is why Geoff and I have a really hard time seeing how people think they look the same.
