Santa's Reindeer

On Friday we had a little visitor during lunch. We were sitting at the table and I see something outside out of the corner of my eye, so I look up and what do I see....a "reindeer" looking at me!!! Yes, we had one of "Santa's reindeer" as Macie would put it, in our front yard eating our grass. It was pretty fun. It looked right at us and then just kept on eating. It started walking away and another one came from our backyard and joined it. It was pretty cool.
So, I thought that I would use this as an excuse to give the girls a present. You see, we were going to be making all of the Christmas treats to give to our neighbors after lunch and I really wanted the girls to have their aprons when we made them, so....I took them out from under the tree (without the girls seeing) and I placed them on the porch. I then said to Macie:
"do you think that maybe the reindeer left us a present from Santa?"
her: "ya!!! Let's go see"
So we opened the front door and there were 3 presents sitting on our porch. She grabbed them excitedly and yelled to the reindeer "thank you reindeer!" It was pretty stinkin' cute. So then we headed inside to open them. They were sooo excited. She still tells the story and I love to hear it. (Mostly because I am still shocked at the geniousious of myself! :) ) I am soo happy that I did it this way. I feel like if she would have opened it on Christmas morning than she wouldn't have been very excited, but this way, she was thrilled, and she loves to wear it!!

What a perfect opportunity! That was a great idea! The girls look so cute in their aprons too! They're getting so big. This Christmas will be really fun for you guys. I must admit, we were talking about it the other day and it feels strange you're not coming back west this year, but we totally understand. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
