Graduation DaY!!!

Yesterday, May 15th, 2011, was graduation day for Geoff. He graduated from Dental School and is now officially: Dr. Geoff Barnum!!! How awesome is that!! It was a such great day. The ceremony was really nice and the memories and friends that we have made here will last a lifetime!! We can't believe that it is already over and that we are done and moving on with life. Macie Dance Recital

Macie turns 5!!

Macie had her 5th birthday on Thursday, May 5th!! I can't believe that she is 5! Old enough to start kindergarten!!! CRAZY!!! She had a great birthday full of presents, friends, and treats! She was able to take some treats to school and then after school had a little birthday party with a couple of friends. After the party we did a little BBQ with some friends and celebrated a little bit more. It was a fun, tiring day.

This is the doll that Macie got for her birthday! She loves it!! She is pretty sure that it is real because it talks and tells her what she needs.This is the Yahtzee game from Grandma and Grandpa Barnum. She is showing us how it works.She is a little excited for this one. We went to the store earlier this week and she said that this is the toy that she really wanted for her birthday and that when she got it, she would say "mom, that is the toy from the store that I wanted!!" Anyways, I had bought this exact toy on clearance about 2 months ago and was going to give it to Addie for her birthday, but when Macie saw it and said that, I just had to give it to her.Here is the game that she requested for her birthday party. When I asked her what games she wanted to play at her party this is the one that she came up with. She wanted a tree with a nest and then birds that had to find the nest. All in all it was a great birthday!! Thanks to everyone who called, (she actually got quite tired of people calling her. With each new phone call she would sigh and answer the phone all annoyed!! It was hilarious!!) sent or gave her present, or just told her happy birthday!! It really made her day!!

Easter

This year was a lot of fun, but also snuck up on me. I was not ready for it to come as fast as it did. None the less, we still fit in a few fun things and had a great day. Here are a few pics of the festivities. First our city had an easter egg hunt. Easter morning the girls slept in. As in, Geoff and I got out of bed at 9:00 and had to wake them up. WOW!! This is the only picture I have of her halfway smiling!Geoff went to Dallas this same weekend for an interview and he stayed with my Aunt Ann while he was there. She sent him home with easter gifts for the girls. They got to make the necklaces that they are wearing and she sent them the cute little pursed that they are holding filled with eggs. So nice!! Big girl bike

One week ago Macie decided that she wanted to take the training wheels off of her bike. We were a little apprehensive about this and told her that once we took them off, we were not putting them back on. She decided that this was ok and wanted us to take them off, so we did. She did really well. After only about 6 times of us helping her up and down the street, she was doing it all on her own. She was pretty wobbly, but she was doing it. By the next day she had it down and was doing great! So fun!! She is so proud of herself and loves to ride her bike!Here is Addie on her bike.She just learned to ride her bike too!Geoff helping Macie. For those of you who are wondering, this is a great rear end workout!Here she is coming back toward the house. She was so excited she could not wipe that smile off of her face. She also could not stop laughing. Neither could I. Watching her was hilarious!!! Because Geoff had ahold of her she would just be laughing and looking from side to side, not watching where she was going at all. It was soooo funny!!The girls then pulled out their sunglasses and thought that they were so funny because they put them down by their mouths for a mustache!

Thursday was Geoff's 28th birthday!! We celebrated the day by sleeping in, making french toast for breakfast and having friends over for dinner and cake! We had the Welch's and the Bjarnason's over. I made Cafe' Rio for dinner and then we had strawberry trifle for the cake! It was a fun filled day and the girls were so excited that birthday season in our home is finally starting. I also wanted to congratulate Geoff on passing Boards and finishing everything in clinic!! He can now graduate and become a dentist!! Only 4 more weeks until graduation!! CRAZY!! Good job babe on finishing dental school!! You are amazing!!

Today Macie had a play date. On the way home from the play date Macie asked if she could watch some cartoons when we get home. I said that I wasn't sure because it was such a nice day outside and we will probably be outside. She responded with: "but mom, I have been playing outside all day, I need a rest and my breath hurts" It was all I could do to not burst out laughing!! I said: "your breath hurts?" and she replied: "ya" like it was a totally normal thing. Also today Macie has been learning how to ride her bike without training wheels. After she did it once all by herself, she said: "I learned how to ride a teenager!!" so proud!!! I seriously don't know where she gets these things and they are sooooooo funny!!!

It's Raining, It's Pooring

On Wednesday it was raining all day long. There were a few small spats of thunder and lightening, but mostly just rain. The girls HATE the sound of thunder!!!! Seriously! They will both immediately put their hands over their ears and then start to cry. Funny and annoying all at the same time. We had had enough of being inside all day, so I got the girls rain stuff out and sent them out to enjoy playing in the rain!!
